FAQ
Q:How much time could be saved with modular construction?
A:Site construction and module fabrication factory could be carried out at the same time with modular construction. Also, module installation onsite could be simpler and faster to reduce around 50% of construction time.
Q:Do I need to find special construction companies to carry out modular building programs?
A:It might not the essential, but we recommend you to do so. Compared with traditional construction projects, modular projects possess some unique characters and with the help of experienced contractor, it could save you lots of time, cost and efforts.
Q:What would you do when modules arrive on site?
A:We will lift modules with heavy duty cranes and put them in place and then start connecting modules together, which include electricity, plumbing and structures.
Q:How is the quality of modular buildings?
A:HiG modular possesses professional teams to carry out detailing design, module fabrication and installation to guarantee safe and quality delivery of projects. In factory, our modules are fabricated and fitted with machines and smart equipment. Our QA team will make sure each module is perfectly inspected and can meet high standards to avoid unnecessary errors and defects. This can also reduce extra waste of materials and construction waste so as to lower maintenance efforts and costs.
Q:What is prefabrication rate?
A:Prefabrication rate is the overall percentage of parts and components of a single building being made in factory. It mainly refers to parts above the ground, including structure, external walls, partition walls, decoration and fitting, appliances and plumbing, etc. According to Standards for Evaluating Prefabricated Buildings, the prefabrication rate should be no less than 50% in China.
Q:Does it mean the higher the prefabrication rate is the better the building can be?
A:Buildings with higher prefabrication rate means higher consumption rate of energy and materials thus it could reduce affect to the environment. Meanwhile, it could maintain safety and comfort of living. That’s why modular construction, as one of the highly prefabricated construction methods, has been regarded as an important way to achieve green building industry. However, high prefabrication rate doesn’t equal to high quality. Without strict quality control during prefabrication stage, it will lead to waste of materials and increase of cost.
